What Is It?
Hematide™/peginesatide is a synthetic dimeric peptide-based ESA which is being evaluated for the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic renal failure. Hematide binds to and acts through the erythropoietin (EPO) receptor with potent in vitro and in vivo activity demonstrated in multiple species. The compound is PEGylated for increased stability and extended half-life.
